Note: after reboot, system completely unusable i.e. display driver is nonfunctional with lines throughout the display once OS loads such that you cannot read anything. The only way to recover is to switch to onboard graphics in the BIOS i.e. intel display driver as the W500 comes with both intel and ATI graphics.
