Upgraded from Karmic to Lucid and got this failure message. I have an older ATI Radeon onboard video (2100). Had been having problems with video in Skype and Kdenlive so I did the upgrade. Still couldn't see test video in Skype so a removed it with Synaptic, which also removed fglrx for some reason. Then Skype would not install without fglrx installed. After I reinstalled flgrx from Synaptic, I could then install Skype. It seems to be running the open source Radeon driver, not fglrx, though. The test video still doesn't work in Skype, but otherwise seems okay.
