Bug Description

Using Ubuntu 10.04 --- in ISO Testing.

I did NOT install any proprietary hardware drivers.... so...

The Non-proprietary (Ubuntu's default) video driver eventually switches monitor to a fuzzy mode.

I have ATI/AMD video hardware (on a Gateway AMD 64 Phenom 9150e Quad-Core machine).

After using the computer for a while... ( maybe an hour or so....? ) the monitor "goes to "sleep" for about ONE second, then, it wakes up.... and all the fonts are "blurry"...

It's as if the monitor has switched into a "analog mode"...? ( I am only guessing here. )

As if the PC / OS has told the monitor to switch modes...? ( Again, only guessing here. )

Rebooting doesn't even seem to fix it.

I think perhaps power-cycling the monitor AND rebooting the PC... fixes it.

I'll try this a update in the comments here.

Very strange tho.

If this is a problem with the open-source drivers, it shouldn't be reported against fglrx-installer.
