Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
I just tried this by updating Jaunty to Karmic. I've tried this previously right after the last Alpha - I also tried a completely fresh install of the last Alpha.
I have an ATI Radeon mobile in my laptop. After upgrading, before the login screen appears, the comp freezes and shows a bunch of random colored boxes and lines.
If I boot with the previous kernel I can at least get into the OS - but when you go to the restricted drivers, while it says the ATI driver is activated, its not in use.
I can provide further info upon request - did some searching to see if anyone else sees this, and havn't found anything yet.

I guess this can be removed - I finally found some info on this.
As I guess everyone knows, fglrx doesn't yet support the latest kernel. 9.8 just came out, but it still doesn't support 2.6.31 just up to 2.6.30.
Worse, the open source drivers don't support r600-r700 - so I'm out in the cold with 3d and my ATI card. Bummer.
