LCD Backlight will not turn off when screen blanked

Bug Description

Ubnutu 9.04 X64
ATI Proprietary Driver FGLRX

Medion MD96729 Laptop.
ATI Mobility Radeon
ATI HD3470 Dedicated 256MB GDDR2

After upgrading from the open source ATI Driver where the back-light turns off when the screen is blanked, to the ATI Proprietary Driver FGLRX where the back-light stays on when the screen is blanked.

This was solved by down loading the ATI Drivers 9.6 from ATI and then installing by using the following link.
