2009-04-28 08:47:52 Bryce Harrington description I installed Ibex and updated everything. Then installed the ATI drivers from the repository. I did the aticonfig -initial - f command but it complained that I didn't have an xorg.conf. Even though I did I still rebuilt it with sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg (which I found in an Ubuntu forum) and sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg which I found in one of the logs. It won't boot into anything but low resolution and at the bottom of the log is this: drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device or address) drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device or address) drmOpenDevice: Open failed Backtrace: 0: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x79) [0x80c3019] 1: [0xb7fad400] 2: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//radeon_drv.so [0xb7a2fc27] 3: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//radeon_drv.so [0xb79fd55a] 4: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//radeon_drv.so [0xb7a004fc] 5: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(InitOutput+0x96f) [0x80aac9f] 6: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(main+0x279) [0x8071b19] 7: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe5) [0xb7bb5685] 8: /usr/X11R6/bin/X [0x8071101] Saw signal 11.
