Same here with
- Ubuntu 9.04 Final
- SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon HD4830 - 512 Mo DDR3

Slow maximizing and diplaying new window, other stuff are slower than in 8.10, but not as slow.

Hope a solution will be found soon.
