I decided to purge the new kernel to temporarily fix the situation:

sudo apt-get purge linux-image-3.19.0-26-generic*

I will wait for a new kernel update. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next one. :)

Is this similar to the bug:

"fglrx 2:13.350.1-0ubuntu2: fglrx kernel module failed to build [FATAL: modpost: GPL-incompatible module fglrx.ko uses GPL-only symbol '__static_cpu_has_safe']"

Is this a regression caused by using a GPL-only-symbol in the wrong place?

In this case "FATAL: modpost: GPL-incompatible module fglrx.ko uses GPL-only symbol 'pci_ignore_hotplug'"
