Strange error while attempting to report an error

Bug Description
Xubuntu 12.10 64 bit edition reported an error.
It did not tell me what had crashed. When I clicked the button that allows me to report the error, i got this error message a moment later:
An error occurred while attempting to process this problem report:
unpack requires a bytes object of length 4
I have found several other bugs listed here with similar events, but none of which are exactly the same.
Xubuntu did not tell me anything crashed, while the others I list below mention a specific problem:
