Bug Description
the automated bug reporter knows more about this than i do. i should just let it speak.
note: i think i used a different repository, added ppa:xorg-edgers, but i can't be certain it was used to obtain package.
observation: how is it that original ati card hd5450 worked ok with my linux system (except slide-show slow on hd video) and now the new card ati hd6770 displays hd video just fine but operates in a degraded mode for hi-res text and screen saver.
question: is this a driver problem or X window config problem? is fglrx necessary for multi-media only apps (not high end gaming)?
