i'm pretty sure it has something do with sdl and pulseaudio

fceux has flawless audio on my OSSv4 box, but I can't get it to sound clear with pulseaudio+alsa.

i've looked at the code for a while, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

one thing to make sure that fceux's sample rate is the same as the default for your soundcard, but i've just had a lot of problems with pulse+sdl in general

+1. This is on an amd64 box. I've tried the FCEUX recommendations* of swapping the SDL audio driver (after installing the libsdl1.2debian-all package). In order, I tried the esd, oss, and alsa drivers. Console each time indicated that it was definitely using the requested driver, but the sound was still choppy.

I'm very curious to know if people are still having issues with sound on Ubuntu. I believe this should be resolved in the latest version of fceux and the latest sdl / pulseaudio in Ubuntu. Can anyone confirm or deny? I cannot reproduce on Arch Linux, Ubuntu 11.04 or Mac OSX. If people are still experiencing this issue I'd like to work with them to debug and resolve it. You can file a bug upstream, reply to this ticket, or contact me directly (LTsmooth42 _at_ gmail _dot_ com). Thanks in advance for your help in making fceux awesome.
