Bug Description

Binary package hint: fakeroot

I'm running Maverick (currently standard 2.6.35-10-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP)
and am just building a new kernel package (with DEB_BUILDOPTIONS=parallel=10)
and it's hung quite a long way in during an ld instance, attaching to ld and getting a backtrace I see:

(gdb) quit

so best guess is that this is a fakeroot issue.

This is most likely data corruption caused by a hardware issue or a data race.

Ubuntu 10.10 is end-of-life since April 10, 2012. Please try to reproduce this bug in a current Ubuntu release.
