fakeroot is not able to delete some files

dh_make - version 0.50

fakeroot fails due to inability of dh_usrlocal to delete files. As can be seen in the error below I was trying to package vpnc with openssl support. Bug was not present on 9.10.

Error after running fakeroot which is running dh_make which is running dh_usrlocal:
dh_usrlocal: debian/vpnc/usr/local/share/doc/vpnc/COPYING is not a directory
rmdir: konnte „debian/vpnc/usr/local/share/doc/vpnc“ nicht entfernen: Directory not empty
dh_usrlocal: rmdir debian/vpnc/usr/local/share/doc/vpnc returned exit code 1
make: *** [binary] Fehler 1

I will see if I can even reproduce what I was trying to do back then.
