Bug Description
The recidive filter, as shipped with Bionic, can't match against systemd journal entries due to an error in the failregex pattern. This bug was reported and fixed up-stream:

I have tested the fix (just replacing the filter config) on one of my Bionic machines and it does appear to resolve the problem.
Would it be possible to pull this change into Bionic?
