Bug Description

Binary package hint: f-spot

Try using the f-spot screensaver in feisty. It doesn't work, and I can't tell why. There are a couple partial issues I've noted:

* if you run the screenshot binary from the command line, it works fine. So the problem is somewhere in the installation or gnome-screensaver, I think.

* the .desktop file for the screensaver is installed in the wrong place; this is bug 56440 in launchpad, and claims that it was fixed in edgy, but it is back in feisty. If you fix that with a symlink, the screensaver shows up properly in the gnome-screensaver dialog (which it doesn't on a clean install), but still fails to actually work.

* the f-spot-screensaver binary is installed in what appears to be the wrong place (/usr/libexec/gnome-screensaver/ v. /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver/ for gnome-screensaver's self-installed screensavers). But copying or symlinking the binary to /usr/lib/gnome-screensaver/gnome-screensaver/ doesn't seem to help.

Sort of at a loss... will keep poking at it.

Thanks, I'll put it back in its proper place. Wrapper scripts also need to be updated to work properly.

Uploaded 0.3.4-0ubuntu1, this should use pkg-config to put the screensaver in the right place now.
