Bug Description
Binary package hint: f-spot
Hi,
when I use F-Spot to copy files (Nikon D300s RAW files) from memory cards to my computers (problems seen on two different machines, desktop and netbook), three different problems occur not always, but quite often:
* picture file copied incompletely (loss of data)
* picture file copied again every time the card is inserted (does not recognize that the file already exists)
* F-Spot reports that it can't access the file
I guess that - like Network Manager and other broken-by-design tools - make too much use of the desktop mechanisms, and that they are not stable.
I do not think that it is a good idea to have such a buggy and unreliable tool as the default picture processor under ubuntu.
Especially the loss of data is severe.
regards
