Bug Description

When F-Spot imports from a source, it automatically creates the structures of ~/Photo/yyyy/mm/dd.

Could F-Spot either provide a means to specify a directory or some other human-readable output of the users selection?

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

I am skeptical that this is a paper cut. It sounds like a non-trivial amount of work.

I think most of the information should be readily accessible for the directory creator to use. It's just knowledge of the code that could be problematic.

Thanks a lot for reporting this, however since F-Spot is no longer a part of the default Ubuntu installation, nor is it a 'Featured Application' in the Software Centre, this cannot be considered a paper cut.
