Bug Description

Ubuntu Interpid

The attached JPEG image causes error when importing multiple images. There is an error dialog shown when the folder is scanned. But it seems to work when "detect duplicates" is unchecked.

First of all, thanks for your report! Can you please tell us the exact version you're using, i.e. which package you've installed? Another helpful information for debugging is the architecture you've used when the problem occured. Thanks a lot!

Can you repeat the bug? I was afraid it was something specific to my computer or a race condition?

Can't reproduce, sorry for stepping forward to fast. Can you please give me a more detailed description about:

- which folder are you importing?
- please attach a recursive directory listing (ls -Rl ) of that directory

In what way is '/home/moo/Pictures/p9120005.jpg' related to '/home/moo/backup/kuvat1/puhelinkuvat/200810/200810A0/20102008103.jpg' ? Are there maybe symlinks or something?

Hello,

I have a similar issue and want to provide information you asked for. Im attaching 4 files:

1. a screenshot of the error dialog
2. a log of f-spot-import as a txt file
3. listing of the source directory on my camera
4. listing of the destination directory on my pc

The use-case is pretty simple: the problem appears almost every time I want to import new picture from my camera to my pc. The error dialog appears only sometimes, while importing certain files (but not all of them). The files are completely new (new pictures and videos) so they are not symlinks or anything like this.

Please let me know if you need any more info. I am very happy to help, since the problem appears on my parents computer and I really want to convince them that Ubuntu is way better than windows :)

Best,
Michal

Sorry, just realized that I attached the destination listing twice. Here is the listing of the source director (aka: my camera).

Best,
