On Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid - F-spot program - slideshow doesn't work

Everything works good on F-spot except when you start the slideshow the screen goes white and acts like it's showing the pictures.

* Is this reproducible?
** If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* What is the output when you enter [f-spot --version] in a terminal?
* Do you use Compiz? (3D desktop, Desktop effects)
** If so, does the problem persist when you disable it?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

Yes, the screen goes to white every time I try to use the slideshow so it is reproducible. I loaded 1091 pictures from my camera. I click on the slideshow button and the screen goes white. The slideshow toolbar does work and when I click on 'exit full screen' the program completely closes. The version is GNOME f-spot 0.5.0.3. No, I don't use Compiz.

I don't use jaunty so I can't check.  What happens when I hit the slideshow button is the screen goes white and stays white.   The program exits when I hit the esc key.
