Bug Description

Binary package hint: f-spot

I have just installed Hardy from the LiveCD and f-spot (0.4.2-1ubuntu3) would not start from the GUI menu. I tried moving the contents of /usr/lib/f-spot to a temp directory, removing and reinstalling f-spot but that did not help. I also tried moving my ~/.gnome2/f-spot away and restarting f-spot but that did not make a difference either.

When I ran f-spot & from the command line I got the attached error messages.

thanks for your report, may you run f-spot --debug &> f-spot-debug.txt, reproduce the crash and attach that file to the report? thanks.

In the end I persevered and created a new f-spot database from scratch -- I then got my hands dirty in sqlite and inserted my old data, converting to the new database format as I went along. (I was sure that renaming my ~/.gnome2/f-spot still hadn't worked, but I must have been wrong).

I have kept the old database and have just run f-spot --debug on that, which resulted in the attached.

(By the way I'm now on f-spot 0.4.3.1-0ubuntu1.)

Thanks.
