Bug Description
Binary package hint: f-spot
I have a large existing photo collection with my own prefered directory layout (flat hierarchy, event-based, not date-based, one folder per event), and also often want to watch/browse/
F-Spot is currently lacking a method to open a directory to browse the photos in it. But even if I try to work around this and set the folder as default directory in the preferences, and then select View -> Arrange By -> Folder, I don't see any images. Apparently I have to copy them again (aka import), which wastes time, space, and requires me to clean them up afterwards again.

I don't think this is what F-Spot was designed for. There is gthumb for that Of course, upstream has the final say, so it may be worthwhile to forward the bug there.
