Menubar items don't appear under Unity in Saucy

When running under Unity in Saucy, no menu bar items appear. File, Edit, View, etc. all appear, but no menu items appear when they're clicked. When running exaile under Gnome or xfce, the menu items appear fine.

Debugging confirmed that the 'show' event is never being received for MenuItems when the program is running under Unity, so Menu.regenerate_menu is never being called.
