Evolution won't cancel search: message says 'no messages contain search criteria - clear or change the search criteria' but clearing does not work and the search keeps trying in endless loop. It's not possible to view the current folder in this condition.

Placing random data in the search field to enable 'Search > Clear' from the pull down menu in panel fails

It seems the search was triggered by unintended right click (the famous laptop special) changing the e-mail label setting. Returning the label setting to 'none' restored the normal view of the folder. But being able to cancel the search operation should be more clear. Maybe if a search is triggered by a label setting change, it should be reversible through an auto link to the panel pull down menu 'Search > Clear'
