can't send mail input output error

Can get mail but outgoing mail is stuck in outbox. Tried several times but get input output error window.

I am experiencing the same issue.

I have a Gmail account set up in Evolution, IMAP and SMTP access worked just fine for a long time. Today I discovered that I can't send email anymore: an error window appears with a message "Input/output error". How to get more debug information?
