Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution Calendar refuses to change the first day of the week, and separate Sat/Sun view. I have gone to Edit -> Preferences and set the first day of the week, and in the large view calendar in the center with month view activated, it only shows Monday as the first day of the week, and keeps Sat/Sun as a combination at the end of the week. This has been discussed at: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1593012

Actually, none of the calendar preferences in the "Calendar and Tasks" get applied.

No the whole Calendar thing seems to be a real mess this time around I
had to quit using it, because it crashed often too!

Even when unchecking the box for compress the weekends under the calendar options, it still doesn't work. I tried to edit it also in gconf-editor>apps>evolution>caledar>display>compress_weekends but changing that setting does nothing. This is definitely a bug.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. Same as bug 643910 but cannot mark as dup myself.

Charlie Kravetz: No, you do not want to send your Ubuntu-only bugs upstream as they are not upstream bugs.
Instead you want to check first for duplicates in Launchpad, and maybe just fix the bugs in Ubuntu instead.

Andre Klapper: You are, of course, correct. Thank you for catching that. I thought the duplicate check was done, but I assumed it. I will try harder to get this right in the future.
