sfantu, what version of evolution-couchdb do you have installed? There was an issue with birthday dates not being stored which is fixed in the packages in this PPA:

https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntuone/+archive/stable

so, can you please upgrade to the packages in that PPA and try again?

So the birthday are saving all right but they still don`t appear in evolution`s "birthday calendar"

Hello to everyone, also seems that this a quite common problem. I am currently running karmic koala amd64, and i'm having trouble visualizing birthday from contacts in my personal folder. Actually I don't have any contact in my ubuntuone folder. I have already tried to remove contacts with birthdays before 1971 (as it was a older bug affecting evolution) but nothing changed. Yesterday after a LDAP sync birthdays showed, but after i restarted evolution, disappeared again. If you tell me which files to send I'll be glad to describe everyone in more detail my annoying situation. Thank you,
Carlo

Hello,

just wanna bring up this issue and would like to know, it is possible to show the birthday from contacts which are stored in couchdb? Birthday from local contacts appear in the calendar.

I would like that too – with birthdays not displaying the couchdb calendar is of virtually no use to me and it would be such a nice feature once the contact sync is launched again by Canonical... :)

FYI - this has been resolved in 2.30. The user can now as well select which address books should display in the birthdays & anniversaries calendar.

I still cannot see my contacts' birthdays on Evolution's calendar. All my contacts are on UbuntuOne. I don't know if this is a Evolution problem or a Ubuntu One problem. Please help!

rodrigo, is that still an issue?

A user just came into #ubuntuone on IRC with this same problem. You need to enable the "[] Use in Birthday & Anniveraries calendar" option in the properties for the "Ubuntu One" address book. It is not enabled by default on non-local address books in Evolution.
