Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I am running Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit on an Intel Core 2 Duo system. This is a bug with the bundled Evolution 2.28.1.

I have enabled automatic contacts in Edit->Preferences->Mail Preferences. However, when sending new mails or replying to messages, no new contacts are added to the address book. It does not seem to depend on which address book is selected (at the moment, I have Ubuntu One CouchDB selected).

I'll be happy to provide additional information.

Thanks. On my system evolution will not add a new contact no matter which address book backend I use. Not sure why. It's a fresh install, and I have not imported any old settings.

I just checked again, and Automatic Contacts now works with the "Personal" address book. It was not working earlier, however.

The "Ubuntu One" backend is still not working.

I'm literally experiencing the exact same thing in the exact same environment as this bug's description: Automatic Contacts isn't working, Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit, Intel Core 2 Duo, Evolution 2.28.1, Ubuntu One.

Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
