Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I don't seem to be able to change format of the date shown in emails. I have changed it under email preferences, but nothing seems to change. It's currently on y/m/d format.

Using Evolution 2.27.90 in Karmic/9.10.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Also, please answer these questions:
* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* Which locale are you using?
* Could you take a screenshot of the issue?

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem and resolving this bug. BTW that works fine here, changing the date on the preferences menu updates the header with the new one.

I have this problem myself too.

I select a different date format, but the Date keeps using the format: Today, Yesterday, etc.

Change date format Ubuntu and Thunderbird

I had the same problem, you need to change your language to "not Us English"

At the login screen you will get the drop down box with the language options, click there and click other,
In my case it was Australian English... all done ! Log in and all works including Thunderbird date format (day/month/year)

Cheers
