Bug Description

Hi,

I´m using imaps (port 993) to check my email on my home server.
To send emails I use smtp auth.

imaps is set for my account (using tls) but evolution keeps connecting on port 143 (imap).
my firewall denies that.

smtp is set up with smtp auth active but without ssl.

Since sending failed with "relay access denied" and evo didn´t ask for my passphrase i have sniffed the connection. Evo doesn´t use imaps, doesn´t even try, neither does evo use smtp auth when sending emails.

Seems that ssl and smtp-auth support is missing. probably problem with libnspr / libnss?

Installed packages
- evolution 2.6.0-0ubuntu3
- evolution-data-server 1.6.0-0ubuntu1

Regards,

Michael

I reported this about a week ago. See #34058 for a quick summary.

The problem seems to be with evolution not applying settings when you would expect. Try editing your account, setting your TLS options etc., then:

1. CLick "OK" in the Account Editor.
2. Click "Close" in the Evolution Preferences window.

At this point, your changes should have been applied - try hitting Send/Receive. If it still goes for 143, try doing the above and then closing/reopening evolution.
