Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution 2.24.3
Up-to-date Ubuntu (I always add new stuff when the system suggests doing so.) 3-26-09

I have 3208 emails in Trash.
I click "Empty Trash" and there are signs of a scanning activity (percentages run up)
but all the deleted emails are still THERE, accessible, readable, UNDELETEABLE, etc.

thanks for the report, did you tried to expunge the folder and then empty it? May you please run evolution as: CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution &> evolution-debug.txt perform the operation to reproduce the bug and attach that resulting file to the report? thanks in advance.

Changed in evolution (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

[1] the EXPUNGE command inquired, and I (again) clicked "EXPUNGE"
and nothing happened. It's ALL still there,

[2] I tried the

 >>> CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution &>evolution-debug.txt <<<

and it "ran" evolution, I did the expunge again, and.
THERE WERE NO ERRORS RECORDED IN evolution-debug.txt.

[3] CONCLUSION: My version (working on my data) does NOT believe there
is a problem. It just doesn't DO anything.

[4] JOKE: My TRASH is "too big to fail"

YES, I only re-submitted it to use the automated DETAILED-INFORMATION
provision of evolution. Thought it might help you.
ALSO to inquire if you have a way to FIX a BROKEN DB.
