Evolution does not respect settings

Bug Description
Every time I start Evolution it is showing spelling errors as I type. If I check composer preferences for spell checking the check box for checking spelling as I type is NOT checked. If I check it, then uncheck it and close, evolution stops checking spelling as I type.
This has only happened since I installed 16.04 Xubuntu. I have evolution 3.18.5.2.
