send email (smtp) times out since last update

Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
evolution 3.2.3-0ubuntu6
I can not send email anymore (POP mail, SMTP port 25, with password) since last update.
Email receiving works fine.
Same problem observed with other computer using Ubuntu 12.04 and Thunderbird.
Tablet computer using other OS works fine with the same email settings.

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Evolution. You made this bug report in 2013 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Evolution since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug?
If you are, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 1181941
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

I have been using authentication on port 587 with evolution, and
STARTTLS after connecting on Ubuntu 16.04.

I forgot about the bug, since I have a way of handling email.
I think you can close the bug.
