Bug Description

The Evolution is strong tool. But I think the one should be optimized. That's mail sorting by date and others. Here are some suggestions:

First: by date.
All the mail is ascending or descending by date. They are sorted by date and not by subject. Becuase I just make all the mails are sorted by date.

Second: by sender
All the mail is ascending or descending by sender. Just sender and not include other fields. By sender means that all the mail are sorted from A .....to Z or from Z .to A。

I sort mails to find one mail. In evolution style it is too hard to find one mail. So I use two computers. XP pc just receive/send mail because ubuntu mail evolution is not smart. I hope you can fix this bug. I think outlook style is a good example.

You can all do this already. View > Current View > Define View > Sort > Sort By offers you up to four levels to define your sorting criteria.

You can click on the column headers to change the sort too. One thing to check is the View/"Group By Thread", which will override the name order for instance, making it seem like the sort had a few glitches. Turn it off for a true name sort.
