Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

When I try to print an email, evolution always tries to print to A4 paper. I've set /etc/papersize to 'letter', rebooted, removed and added my printer, and set all the paper size entries in the GNOME print panel to Letter, but evolution insists on printing to A4.

My Feisty installation including evolution 2.10.1 also has this problem. All system defaults (including /etc/papersize) and all printers default to Letter. All applications (including OO.org aps, Firefox, T'Bird, acroread, and even command-line printing to lpr correctly print to letter size. Only evolution prints jobs insist on A4. This should be marked confirmed.

Only my home printer, the HP-1000 was set up before I
changed /etc/papersize, so its default is still A4, but the others all
say "letter." Ironically, because it has very forgiving paper handling,
the HP-1000 prints the A4 pages, but leaves no bottom margin. The HP
printers at the office require manual feed of A4 and the 5Si chokes.

Output of "grep "DefaultPage" /etc/cups/ppd/*.ppd is:

/etc/cups/ppd/HP-envelope.ppd:*DefaultPageSize: Env10
/etc/cups/ppd/HP-envelope.ppd:*DefaultPageRegion: Env10
