I have performed a backtrace on evolution on Jaunty (Netbook Remix). This is on an Acer Aspire One w/1Gb RAM.

I did a gdb backtrace for #366471, but got the comment '...is an evolution-mapi issue is a different bug', so I'll post the trace here.

I can confirm this bug. It is happening to me as well. Just upgraded from Gutsy 8.04 to Intrepid 8.10 and finally to JJ 9.04.

Evolution opens normally. When going to calendar, and clicking on the Exchange Calendar, appointments are shown briefly and then they disappear. "Evolution Calendar has quit unexpectedly" is shown on the status bar.

Attached is the information required.

** Update**

After noticing the legend "Lost connection to the Exchange Backend" on the log, I went ahead and deleted my account from ~/.evolution/mail/exchange and restarted the trace. Previously, the Calendar would show up for 1-2 seconds and then dissapear. Now the Calendar is clickable but the check mark is immediatly cleared. No msgs on the Status Bar.

Attached the new trace.

I'm experiencing the same problems described here, all after upgrading to 10.04. In addition to what has been said here, I also noticed that the CPU utilization for the evolution process, goes to 100%. I'm also experiencing an intermittent issue while working with Exchange Contacts. This is pretty much rendering my work laptop useless, as I can't use my calendar at all. Any logs or traces that I could provide? This is Evolution 2.28.3.

Hello all... after reading extensively on this topic I have decided to post my progress.

Here's what I have:
* Ubuntu 10.10 (64-bit desktop edition)
* Evolution 2.32.2 (2.32.2-0ubuntu3-maverick1)
* Evolution-MAPI (0.32.0-0ubuntu1~maverick3)

My computer is joined to a an Active Directory using Likewise Open 6

I successfully configured my e-mail account using Exchange MAPI configuration and e-mail works perfectly. I had to use the IP address of the Exchange server as I could not authenticate using the DNS name or Evolution would crash (this seems to be typical). Once I got into Evolution e-mail works just fine. If I click on Calendar, the Exchange Calendar opens and I can see my schedule for the day but then I receive an error message indicating "The Evolution calendar has quit unexpectedly" and subsequent errors about Tasks and Memos. It seems to me that the problem may be similar to what others have reported having to do with the cache location. I checked and have observed the following folder which I believe represents the intended cache for my calendar:

home\local\DOMAIN\user\.cache\evolution\calendar\mapi_user@0.0.0.0_;6F54A40200000001

(the domain, user and IP addresses have been changed to protect the security of my network but this should give readers an idea)

I checked this folder and the permissions are set for "user" so it shouldn't be an issue. My though, however, is that Evolution-MAPI is expecting the calendar cache to be in something more like:

home\user\.cache\evolution\calendar\mapi_user@0.0.0.0_;6F54A40200000001

and since it doesn't find it where it expects, it doesn't allow the calendar to open. I would like to provide log files but I am just getting started with debug processing in Ubuntu so I don't have a clear foundation of how and what I need to produce logs. If I do figure that out I will post what I can. I would love to get this resolved as I have a number of users who would like to migrate from Outlook to Evolution if I could provide them equivalent functionality.

Thank you,
Chris Bolton
