notifications are not dismissed after messages read in Evolution

Bug Description

Ubuntu 13.10
evolution-indicator 0.2.20-0ubuntu11
evolution 3.8.4-0ubuntu1
evolution-ews 3.8.4-0ubuntu1

Steps to reproduce:

1. I get a new email. I receive notification as normal, and the icon turns blue.
2. I switch to Evolution and read email

Now I expect the notification to clear, but it doesn't. The icon is still blue and it still shows 1 unread message in the Contacts section.

I'm using evolution-ews to read email on an Exchange server.

Notifications are cleared normally by other apps (like Pidgin).

This remains an issue on Evolution 3.10.4 and Ubuntu 14.04. Agreed that it's quite an annoyance as I have to clear the indicator manually.

This still remains as issue on thunderbird and pidgin notifications even in Ubuntu 15.10 too.
This is still unassigned. Any hope about this getting fixed in the new version 16.04 ?

Issue still happening in Ubuntu 16.04

evolution-indicator 0.2.20-0ubuntu23
evolution 3.18.5.2-0ubuntu3.2
evolution-ews 3.18.5-1ubuntu1

The tray icon turns blue and it doesn't dismiss when opening evolution.
