Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Version in use
Ubuntu 9.04
evolution: Installed: 2.26.1-0ubuntu1
evolution-exchange: Installed: 2.26.0-0ubuntu2

What's expected to happen: Stay connect to evolution-exchange backend process
What happens instead:

Since upgrading from ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 evolution will not stay connected to the backend process. I can force it to lose it's connection by switching to the calendar page and checking the checkbox next to my exchange calendar. Switching back to email then and opening any unread email yields the following error:

Unable to retrieve message
Lost connection to Evolution Exchange backend process

If I switch back to the calendar again I noticed that the checkbox next to the exchange calendar is once again unchecked. If I check it, it displays my exchange calendar entries,

Access to email is lost unless I close evolution and restart it. But even then I only get it back for a few minutes before it's gone again.

this bug *may be a duplicate of bug 353187, but it is rather unclear at this point. As such, I am just tagging it 'likely-dup'.

I have the exact same problem. Even when not touching the calendars at all, evolution ends up losing connectivity with exchange (ie: Lost connection to Evolution Exchange backend process). I didn't have this issue prior to upgrading to 9.04 from 8.10...

I and three others at this site are having this same problem. Evolution has become useless. We are the pilot for moving office users to Ubuntu, and since the upgrade to Jaunty the project has hit a massive roadblock. This was very stable on Intrepid. We are on an Exchange 2003 server.

I am experiencing this bug, "Lost connection to Evolution Exchange backend process". Posting here because it I doubt its the same as bug 353187, or, if it is, it has come back.

I'm using 9.10 and Evolution 2.28.1 and it happens a couple of time a day, more often at startup.

Possibly unrelated, I see a lot of "CRITICAL **: atk_object_set_name: assertion `name != NULL' failed". Every five or ten minutes when, otherwise, things look OK.
