Bug Description
Binary package hint: evolution-exchange
Me and others often get an error in Evolution which is something like 'Evolution lost connection with Exchange backend process'. I assume this is some kind of crash since you need to restart Evolution to get it working again.
Wouldn't it be possible to report this crash with apport? Right now it's very difficult to troubleshoot when components of Evolution crashes.

I'm experiencing the same problem. It's sometimes not just as easy as re-opening though. If I go into standby and then resume I get this error “Lost connection to Evolution Exchange backend process.”
I have to reboot to fix... I have also had to reset my exchange account and resync my entire mailbox, which consumes a large amount of bandwidth. (my Exchange server is at a different office) After this happens, I have to reset the default save folder for sent items or I continue to get the error, even though the name of the new sent item location is the same as the old (obviously not on the back side though)
I've tried https over the internet and http over my tunnel... they both work fine until this error occurs.
I've also noticed that my Global Catalogue server keeps changing upon restarting... I'd prefer to keep it as the one on my local subnet ( I haven't figured out how to automate the persistent routes yet and the classless static routes aren't picking up from my DHCP server).
Sorry for the long post, I've spent a lot of time looking for solutions to this and all this info seems relevant to me.
