Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution-exchange

Evolution 2.11.6 (Gutsy Tribe-4) asks for GAL password in all circumstances:

* If the GAL Server is not specified
* If the GAL Server is not available (my organization's GAL server is behind a VPN and not accessible like the OWA server).

This password is requested each time an e-mail is composed or replied to.

I, too, ran through this bug following an upgrade to Gutsy. This made Evolution unusable for me, which caused me to roll back to Feisty. Therefore, this seems to me like a high priority issue.

Unusable? Rolling back to Feisty for this seems a bit unnecessary in my eyes.

Untick Global Address List in Evolution's Autocompletion settings and you will receive no more annoying popups.

Be sure to tick the Contacts entry at the same time, and import the Global Address Book manually from an export - and you will have practically the same functionality, except that it isn't automatically updated.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta or later?
