I can print with evince in a new PDF file, is ok.

If it is necessary than I compile a package, or I do something, write to me e-mail.

The pdf was generated by RENFE (http://www.renfe.es), all pdf generated since RENFE are identical error (inclusive other places in the train at other days).

But all pdf by RENFE can to be printing in the same hardware in Ubuntu 8.04.

Ok, I can print the attached file with xpdf: it use the command lpr

evince use CUPS for printing and not print the attached file.

Do lpr command use CUPS?

The problem is possible in evince or in controller printer.

How I could know where is the problem (evince or CUPS)?

If I create a new document with two pages in OoO Writer and I export to PDF file (a page with a word, second page with other word). Then I can print all correct with evince, CUPS, in my printer (HP 1300).

But evince with the file attached don't print the second page, in my printer, it print the error text.

If the problem is the controller, my printer have a lot of possible controllers:
Not print: The default: HP LaserJet 1300 Series Postscript [en]
Print very soft: HP LaserJet 1300 hpijs pcl3, 3.9.8 [en]
Print well, it is the controller selected: HP LaserJet 1300 Foomatic/lj5gray [en]

Now I change the LogLevel to debug in the configuration CUPS file.

The CUPS file error log is attached

Now I have Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx.

I have seen that the controller driver for my impress (HP LaserJet 1300) default is "HP LaserJet 1300 Series Postscript [en]", and that controller fail.

If I choose the "HP LaserJet 1300 Foomatic/lj5gray [en]" then all is ok, print perfectly.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

The bug is corrected, now is ok.

But... the default printer controller for HP Laser Jet 1300 ("HP Laser Jet 1300 Series Postscript [en](recommended)") is very slow, three minutes per page for print a soft-greese ink.
If select controller is "HP Laser Jet 1300 Foomatic/lj5gray [en]" the velocity is only slow: two pages in one minute.
