Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

Hi,

I have tried printing several pdf's and only the first page prints.
It doesn't matter if I select 'print all pages' or 'print pages 1-3' for example.

I'm unsure if this is a problem of Ubuntu per se or the printer drivers.
The printer is a Xerox 3272 and I have refreshed the drivers several times.

Thanks.

vicious129, thank you for taking the time to report this bug. To help gather additional information, could you please try printing the document again, and once it is completed, run the command 'apport-collect -p cups-pdf 483606' in the terminal.

Also, are you experiencing any similar problems when printing pdfs from programs like okular, or even word documents from programs like Open Office?

This bug just showed up on my computer as well. When I try to print the document (13MB according to the print queue), it takes a very long time, and ends up printing the first page 10 times instead of printing 10 double sided pages.

This is also with a Xerox printer -- the Xerox Phaser 6360DN.

It is also using 100% of one of my CPUs in the "gs" (ghostscript, I assume) process with user "lp".

Brian, what program were you using to try to print? Also, could you try using other programs to print the same document to see if similar behavior occurs?

Reopening. I also have this problem since upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04. evince (only; OpenOffice.org works fine) will only print the first page of any job. I'm about to run the request apport command.

Hmm - I can't. apport says:

"You are not the reporter or a subscriber [I am a subscriber] of this problem report, or the bug is a duplicate [it is not] or is already closed [it is not]."

So I don't know why I can't send you the info.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
