Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

After Karmic clean install, all of Evince's application text (menu item labels, title bar text, about box text, etc.) render as boxes (i.e., []) It doesn't actually impact the program's functionality, but it is making it quite difficult to rotate this pdf file...

Yes, it's just Evince. I've even reinstalled from scratch since then, and
I'm getting the same thing.

Could you try removing ~/.gnome2/evince/ and tell us if the problem has gone away? Thank you

Negative. The problem has not gone away after removing ~/.gnome2/evince/

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of Evince is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.
