Evince hangs very often

When I'm using evince, it often freezes for about a minute and I can't do anything with it. After the freeze I can do something, then it freezes again and after the freeze, it has done the request action.

For me it is reproducible, evince hangs with every pdf I open.

Steps to reproduce:
 - Open a pdf file
 - Scroll
 - Evince hangs for about 10 seconds

the issue seems to be a dbus one

Not D-Bus; evince is making a synchronous call to something that's not responding - so it'll timeout eventually

Sebastien, Dominik is already on Jaunty.
Dominik, can you please try running evince from a terminal and tell us if you get any error messages there when it hangs?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Is this reproducible with Ubuntu 9.10 the Karmic Koala? Please test and provide us of feedback about it, Thanks in advance..

I can confirm this with Ubuntu 9.10.
Evince hangs with every pdf file I open. My Ubuntu is an upgrade from 9.04, maybe that does have any effect?
