pdf reference to other pdf files, when only relative path is given, is not working

Relative path links are not working.

Example - Mitsubishi Galant 1997 Technical manual. You can find it:

Whole manual is very large so i'm sending small fragment of it. If this won't work let me know - i'll send whole.

1. Run START.pdf
2. Choose "English" language
It should open 'DOCUMENTATION/PWDE9611/COVER.pdf'

3. COVER.pdf has link "Workshop manual" which should open "MANUALS/g-title.pdf"

ginga, the issue you're reporting is part of a larger issue: pdf files with relative links, be it to other pdf files, or to other parts of a website.

this works when the pdf file is opened using a browser plugin.

instead, firefox saves the pdf file under /tmp and evince opens it from there, so the initial url is lost
