evince does not display pdf files produced by openoffice

evince merely fails to display pdf files produced by openoffice.
gpdf displays the files as expected.

evince version: 0.3.2-0ubuntu2
libpoppler0c2 version: 0.3.3-0ubuntu3

It seems to be an upstream bug against libpoppler. (and a regression since I can
open the PDF here in Hoary with Evince 0.1.9)

If this bug is confirmed, could you please report it upstream ?

poppler/cairo is known to have issue on ppc, we will switch to splash if required.
