can't print pdf files with evince, printer dcp 1510. Message is printer complete but no printed page comes out.

can't print pdf on a dcp 1510.
I removed than re-instalaled printer, test page prints ok.
however when attempted to print pdf file, i get the message print completed but actually nothing comes out of the printer.
That is not an issue with libreoffice documents.

In 21.04 the printmenu from evince stops the whole programm and can only be killed.
