Can you open the ps document in acroread 8 and use the find command?

If I try to open the *PS* in acroread 8 it complains that it could not open it "because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).

The document with which I discovered the bug is in the tarball at:
http://www.pms.ifi.lmu.de/software/jack/docu/jase-diplom.ps.gz

(Please note that I am not the author of such document, I just needed to read it)
