Bug Description
Refe to this bug that is closed without being resolved on 14.04

Since the bug us closed without being resolved and nobody responds to the comments I am opening a new one for the same problem. Having it resolved in 14.10 does not help anybody using the LTS 14.04. It should be fixed in 14.04 updates as well.
1. Open a pdf document.
2. Press the '/' key.
Expected:
The find dialogue opens.
Actual:
Nothing
