Why are you still using evdi-dkms 1.14.2+dfsg-1ubuntu1.1 ?
6.14 compatibility was fixed with evdi-dkms 1.14.2+dfsg-1ubuntu1.2 and you should have received this update through normal updates ( bug 2110937 )

Thanks for the quick response. I am using the version you requested. I
have run apt-cache policy evdi-dkms.
You can see the result below.

My system boots well and I have no other problems.
The problem occurred while updating. Possibly the update procedure
itself installed the correct version.

Ah, I got confused from the initial information -
Package: evdi-dkms 1.14.2+dfsg-1ubuntu1.1
PackageVersion: 1.14.2+dfsg-1ubuntu1.1

Your 'make' error is the same one fixed in the bug I referenced.

I would try to purge the package and reinstall.
sudo apt purge evdi-dkms
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt install evdi-dkms

You're welcome. I'm not exactly sure what caused this issue, so I will leave it open/'Incomplete' for the time being in case you or anyone else has issues in the near future.
