euca-register sets 'public' by default
$ euca-register lucid-20100317/

$ euca-describe-

Now, register something in ec2:
$ euca-register --config ~/.eucarc.
IMAGE ami-db00efb2
$ ec2-describe-images ami-db00efb2
IMAGE ami-db00efb2 smoser-
Note, above, the image registered in eucalyptus defaults to 'public', meaning that the user has to explicitly make something private, and possibly loses a race to do so. I used 'ec2-describe-
